It’s a long way from Rotorua to Detroit, but Clayton Campbell made the journey — and it wasn’t by accident.
Before the signing, the flights, or the clubhouse with a big-league logo on the wall, Clayton was just a kid with raw talent, good instincts, and a love for the game. He had the tools. He could swing it, and he could throw. But like many talented players tucked away on this side of the world, what he didn’t have was visibility.

Eventually, the phone call came. An offer from the Detroit Tigers organisation. A real one. Signed. Done.
Today, Clayton Campbell wears the Tigers uniform. Not because someone handed it to him, but because he earned it, step by step.
