CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT ELLA COVILL-MARTER TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!!

Please join us in congratulating Ella Covill-Marter from Brisbane, Queensland, who is our latest DownUnder Traveller athlete to commit to playing college softball in America.

Ella has chosen to commit to McCook Community College in Nebraska as she was impressed with the facilities and on-campus housing that McCook Community College offers. Ella felt that Coach Mendenhall was welcoming, approachable and communicative during the recruitment process and said that she was excited to join McCook Community College as she felt that they would not only support her to work toward achieving her sporting goals, but that also her academic goals. She said, “McCook Community College provides excellent incentives, a full scholarship and pre-requisite courses toward a degree.”

Having played softball for 13 years, Ella has developed a love of softball making many lifelong friendships and having fun playing in a team environment. Ella said, “I love playing softball because it is a sport where I can try my hardest, take risks and learn from mistakes and failures to succeed.”

Like many players, Ella has endured some tough moments and losses out on the playing field. However, she has always persevered, put 100% into her training and has demonstrated commitment to playing her best for her teammates and coaches. For players wanting to pursue a future pathway in softball, Ella recommends that players, “Learn resilience and, when difficult moments arise, learn to leave it all out on the field. Work as hard as you can to achieve the highest level and always find ways to improve yourself for the team.”

When asked how she found the recruitment process with the DownUnder Travellers, Ella said, “The DownUnder Travellers were easy going and approachable and the communication was open and honest with a very quick turn around.”
