Greg Morris has dedicated over 53 years to the game of baseball, contributing as a player, coach, and professional scout across every level of the sport.
For more than 30 years, Greg has been a leader in junior coaching and development pathways at both club and regional levels. He served as a Queensland and Australian National junior team coach, guiding young athletes to reach their potential.
Greg spent 17 years as a professional scout with three different Major League organizations, signing numerous players— including two who went on to reach the Big Leagues. His expertise as a hitting instructor and coach, spanning more than 32 years, has earned him widespread respect throughout the baseball community.
His international experience is extensive, highlighted by:
- Coaching the 16U USA Regional Team to a silver medal at the 2022 National Championships in Arizona.
- Leading six tours to the USA with junior teams.
- Attending Major League Spring Training and bringing back valuable knowledge to Australian baseball.
Since 1991, Greg has been a cornerstone of Queensland coaching at all levels, playing a key role in high-performance programs and athlete development. His contributions have been recognized with induction into the Expos Australia Hall of Fame (1999, USA) and as an Australian Sports Medal recipient (2000).
Greg’s long career also includes the unique distinction of holding two World Series Championship rings from his years in professional scouting.
