CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT JAXON DATE TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!!

Please join us in congratulating Jaxon Date from Perth, Western Australia who is our latest DownUnder Traveller athlete to commit to playing college baseball in America.

After researching and considering his options, Jaxon has chosen to commit to Clarendon College because of the positive experiences people had shared with him about the college and the high level of baseball that is played there. He said that he is excited to be joining Clarendon College because, “the college has shown that they are able to move guys on to major Division 1 4-year colleges, which is a goal of mine.”  

Jaxon’s love for the sport started at four years of age, playing tee-ball until the age of 11 and then moving on to play baseball. He said, “Baseball is something that I thoroughly enjoy. I have made many friends in the sport when I was younger, who I still love playing with and hanging out with.”

Over the years, Jaxon has focused on achieving his goal of playing college baseball in America and is dedicated to continuing putting in the hard work saying, “Baseball is such a difficult sport, I feel like I am always developing and learning as a player.”

Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions limited Jaxon’s opportunity to play for the DownUnder Travellers, however, he did not let this impact his drive to achieve the goals that he had set. Instead, he accepted the advice and guidance from the DownUnder Travellers that promoted his talent and skills virtually. For player’s wanting to pursue a future pathway in baseball, Jaxon’s advice is to, “Put yourself out there and either make a video for coaches to see or play in front of Scouts and Coaches. The DownUnder Travellers will help you do this. If no one sees your ability, no one will give you a chance.”

Jaxon has played for the following club teams:
Braves Baseball Club
Melville Braves Baseball Club

He has also played for the following representative teams:
Western Australia’s U18 School Sport – 2018, 2019 and 2020
