CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT TOM CHESSELL TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!

Redcliffe Padres' standout player, Tom Chessell, has officially committed to joining the esteemed baseball program at Clarendon College. The talented 3B/1B player has made significant strides in his baseball career, and his commitment to Clarendon College marks an exciting next chapter.

Chessell brings a wealth of experience to his new team, having played for renowned clubs such as Pittwater Baseball, Carina Redsox, and Redcliffe Padres. His dedication and skill on the field have also earned him spots on various representative teams, including the Queensland U18 AYC Team, Queensland U18 Schoolboys Team, and Brisbane North Big League State Titles-winning squad.

When asked about his decision to commit to Clarendon College, Chessell stated, "Clarendon College has always been at the top of my list of colleges to attend. The program's proven results and suitability for Australian students studying in the USA, along with the presence of fellow Aussies on the roster, made it the ideal choice for me. Coach Snook is running an exceptional program, and the positive feedback from current and past students solidified my desire to attend. Additionally, my family ties to Texas made attending a Texas school even more appealing."

Chessell credits the recruitment process and his journey with Ben Moore and the DownUnder Travellers for playing a crucial role in his success. "I was fortunate to participate in the Down Under Travellers trip with Ben Moore and Lionel Harris in June 2022. The experience allowed me to play alongside exceptional players at remarkable stadiums, confirming my determination to continue working hard to reach college baseball. Ben's presence at several tournaments I participated in and his commitment to understanding players and finding the right fit for college made the recruitment process seamless. I also had the pleasure of meeting other coaches like Tony Harris, Phil Brassington, and Craig Watts during the Down Under World Series in April, which was an unforgettable experience."

Reflecting on the significance of baseball in his life, Chessell emphasised, "Baseball is a family that grows everywhere I go, where I have the opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friends. Since the age of 5, when I first started playing ratpackers/t-ball at Pittwater Baseball club, I have cherished every moment on the field."

Looking ahead, Chessell enthusiastically recommends aspiring baseball players to explore opportunities with Down Under Travellers. He stated, "I highly recommend attending future Down Under Travellers trips and tournaments. They provide excellent exposure and connect you with the right people to help you achieve your goals."
