CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LATEST DUT BLAKE GOODING TO COMMIT TO USA COLLEGE!!!

Please join us in congratulating Blake Gooding from Sydney, New South Wales who is our latest DownUnder Traveller athlete to commit to playing college baseball in Florida, USA!

Playing in the recent DownUnder World Series, Blake put up some great numbers. Key data and video captured during the tournament and was reviewed by many DownUnder Traveller contacts. Off the back of strong a performance, professional scouts both here in Australia and America took notice of the talented young Australian.

Blake said, “I’m really glad I played in the DownUnder World Series under Blue Sox coach Tony Harris. Tony has a wealth of knowledge as both a coach and a scout and it was such a great experience! As a collective, Ben Moore, Tony Harris and Lionel Harris from the DownUnder Travellers, guided and offered me invaluable advice to pursue my baseball goals.”

After considering his options, Blake agreed to terms with Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. Hillsborough Community College played at the New York Yankees spring training facilities, presenting unique and exciting opportunities for athletes. Blake first showed an interest in Hillsborough Community College during the 2021 DownUnder Travellers trip and said, “When we toured Hillsborough Community College, the baseball program, accommodation, class facilities and gym were so impressive.”

As a player devoted to reaching his baseball goals, Blake has been playing the sport for 12 years. His advice to players wanting to pursue a future in baseball is, “Play as much baseball as you can, train hard, set baseball specific goals and take every opportunity to learn. And work with the DownUnder Travellers - They have a great record of placing players at schools that suit their goals and they make sure players reach their full potential.”
